Recently I was reading a magazine (I think it was Time) and noticed that truckers in some parts of the country are making over $100k/year (apparently these are “owner/operators).

That got me thinking - what am I doing wrong? I mean, I’ve always kind of thought that truckers went into the industry because they couldn’t get jobs doing anything else, but seriously - for $100k/year I would gut fish in a sewer.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to run out and find a truck driver job immediately or anything, but I’m really going to look around and figure out what other misconceptions I had. Oh, and the next time I drive by a trucker bar I’m really going to wonder what’s going on in there with all that money floating around…

So here’s something cool…if you are looking to stake a claim in the lucrative retail (yet fickle) retail industry and earn some extra money, now’s your chance.  Made possible by drop shipping services, you can own an online retail store without any investment or inventory.  Here’s how it works.

A drop shipper acts as the middleman between the seller (you) and the manufacturer.  Using the drop shipper, you simply choose the products you want to sell on your internet store.  Once a product is ordered by a customer, only then do you put the request in to the drop shipper, who takes care of everything else.  They will pass on the order to the manufacturer who will ship the goods directly to the customer on your behalf.  Neat, huh?
