Just like “August Rush”, I still haven’t seen “Juno”. It is definitely getting rave reviews. Basically, this is my understanding of the plot. A young teenage girl learns of her unplanned pregnancy with a guy who Juno isn’t sure if she loves or not…but she is leaning towards not. This movie was/is so successful that it made up the $6.5 million budget in only 20 days.

Why does it seem that a lot of newer movies have to deal with children being adopted or orphaned? New trend? What did you think of the movie?

The big Park City, UT Sundance film festival is already over…but if you’re in the area, you might consider checking out the Park City Film Series. It shows quality films that have just barely left the theaters in a cozy, community setting. They showed Kite Runner last weekend, but if you missed that, they still have Atonement, There Will Be Blood and others. See the calendar here.

“August Rush” has been getting a lot of talk since it debuted in November, 2007. Now, I admit; I haven’t seen this one yet, but it looks pretty good (previews and word of mouth). It definitely looks like a tear-jerker—especially for me. From what I understand from the previews, the little boy is either accidentally orphaned or placed in an adoption center. The whole movie, the little boy is trying to find his parents and his purpose in life, as well as the role that music plays in it.

“August Rush” has a few big names to accentuate the cover: Keri Russell, Robin Williams, and Freddie Highmore. Also, by the end of 2007, August Rush made a gross income of a little over 30 million dollars.

Is this movie worth seeing? If you saw it, what did you think of it?
