Successful businesses should be anxiously concerned about what they are doing right and what could use some improvement. Most businesses only hear about what they are doing wrong when customers give them a piece of their mind. But it is also crucial to know in what areas the customers are pleased. That is where Enterprise Feedback Management comes into play, or commonly called EFM. The company will get up to date responses and opinions from their customers. Let’s just hope they will take what is said and change what needs to be changed. Better businesses are the future and we need to tell them how we would like them to operate!

For Mother’s Day this year (May 11), my husband and I decided to throw a family party in honor of our dear mothers.  We’ve hired our favorite Salt Lake City catering company to provide delectable treats and we’re hoping the weather is warm, sunny, and bright.

Need ideas for tu madre? How about this…or this…or this…definitely not this.

Warmer weather is approaching and so are many people’s desires to get outside. If this describes you, have you considered these possible jobs so that you can enjoy the weather even more?

  • Truck Driving: You will get to be out on the open road and looking at beautiful scenery. So, if you love to drive and love being to see the outside world, it just might be the perfect job for you. CDL truck driving jobs are pretty easy to find online. So take a look.

  • Certified Lifeguard: You will be able to earn money while working on your time and being able to take the occasional dip in the water (for recreation purposes…let’s hope not for having to save someone–but that is what you are there for). If you love the water, this is the perfect summer job for you.

  • Dog Walker: This is for those who love animals. If you don’t, this might be the most enjoyable job for you. You will able to spend your days interacting with adorable animals in the sunshine–all while getting paid for it!

  • Landscaping: If you have a green thumb, try out this summer job. You will be able to hone your creativity in beautiful weather.

These jobs may start out as just summer jobs, but who knows, maybe they’ll become your career. Get creative. Figure out what you love to do and find a way to do it while getting paid. Get out of that cubicle and get outside!

I’m always a bit peeved when people complain about my home state of Utah - “boring” and “nothing to do” are the terms I constantly hear used to describe the Beehive state.  Say what?  Utah has some of the most geographically diverse landscapes anywhere in the United States - just take a look outside your door.

Goblin Valley, Zion National Park, Arches National Park, The Canyons ski resort, Deer Valley, the Uintas…what’s not to love?

Looking for a new and exciting destination for your next family vacation? You may think the perfect getaway lies across the ocean, at a tropical resort or a charming European city, but you’ll be surprised to know that some of the best vacation spots are right in your own backyard. For a new vacation spot that is as exciting as it is affordable, consider a domestic hotspot. Read on for ideas and suggestions.

The Golden State
California is the ultimate relaxing vacation destination, one filled with activities and sights apt for the whole family. Kid-friendly attractions include Disneyland Resort (naturally) while Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco all boast fabulous shopping, dining, and world-renowned sites. In addition, California’s miles of coastline make for the perfect beach vacation with balmy temperatures, ideal surfing conditions, and water-front accommodations.

The Big Apple
New York City, perhaps one of the most notable cities in the country (if not world), is a bustling melting pot of different cultures and experiences. The city is a world center for fashion, finance, the arts, and business. Attractions (as if you didn’t already know) include the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Times Square, Central Park, Ground Zero, and the Broadway district. In addition, New York City has some of the best dining (from cheap to ultra expensive), shopping, and theatre in the country.

Southwest Paradise
While Arizona may not be the first place that comes to mind, it is a fabulous location for a vacation anytime of the year, especially if you enjoy the great outdoors. Because it has year-round warm temperatures, Arizona has some of the best spa resorts and golf courses in the country, great for winter getaways. In addition, northern Arizona is home to scenic woodlands, perfect for spending time outdoors and getting in tune with nature. Try an Arizona vacation rental (a condo or cabin); you can enjoy four wheeling, hiking, fishing, swimming, and a myriad of other outdoor activities.

The Greatest Snow on Earth
That is Utah’s claim to fame, with over 20 world-class ski resorts, including Deer Valley, Park City Mountain, and Alta. Salt Lake City and Park City are winter playgrounds for the whole family, filled with a myriad of snow sports, world-class accommodations, and fabulous dining.
