Weight Loss and Holidays and Health & Beauty07 Jan 2008 03:20 pm

I just wrote about my husband getting me a puppy for Christmas, and it’s been so much fun! The only problem is that I’m having a hard time keeping up - puppies have so much energy. I’m a little overweight, especially after eating an entire Yule Log myself this Christmas. (Ok, not quite…but it was close!) It seems like I always do that - I enjoy myself a little bit too much during the holidays. Perhaps it was the egg nog that got to me…

At any rate, I’m determined to lose the weight before the swimsuit season. I don’t want to humiliate myself before my family’s annual trip to Southern California this May. I have decided to try Akavar. It’s gotten really good reviews, and I know a lot of people have tried it and loved it. I won’t have to give up my favorite foods, or so I hear. Apparently, I can eat what I want (Krispy Kreme, anyone?) and lose weight. I think what it does is it decreases your appetite so you want to eat less food. Sounds good to me - whatever works! I’m excited to get back into shape, and I’m really excited to try Akavar. I’ll write more as I get results.

I know it is still three months away, but now is the time to start planning all your Christmas festivities!

Every year, my husband and I host a cocktail Christmas party, complete with white elephant gifts, an open bar, and the most amazing food ever (I think everyone leaves nearly four pounds heavier).

We have already got the Utah Christmas caterer, the bartender, and the live music arranged. Now I just have to get all the activities lined up; this article has been a huge help! Let me know if you have any great ideas!

Halloween happens to be my favorite holiday. The costumes, the candy, the parties, scary movies, haunted houses…I love it all!

Every year, I get more and more excited for October 31st to roll around. My husband and I have our annual Halloween spectacular, complete with live music, traditional Halloween games (think bobbing for apples), and the best costumes this side of the Mississippi.

Another favorite? Haunted houses. We visit a different one each weekend they are open. Maybe it’s the adrenaline rush or the opportunity to get close to my man, but whatever it is, I love being scared!

With Halloween only five weeks away, our Halloween planning is well under way! Here are some great resources to make your Halloween one to remember:
